cards, sketches, and draggins
Hey guys! I did stuff today!
So first off I have a bunch of new card designs, which is great because I'm really digging the style, but it's bad because I have so many I like.
The first I'm going to put on the back of all my cards. It's for the site I'm working with, Rocket Powered Dragon. And since I don't want to carry 2 sets of cards around, I'd figure I'd fashion one similar to the style of card I'm using.

Dumgens & Draggins 7:Brand New Mask

Seriously, there are just some items I don't understand. Why would a mask that hides 90% of your face give you more charisma? Wouldn't that just make you less trustworthy? Unless you were really really ugly I guess.
Other pick-up lines:
Girl:You look like you're about to rob a bank.
Guy: Yeah, the bank of your heart!
Girl: You look like a bank robber.
Guy: A sexy bank robber!
I went completely photoshop on this one not because I think it looks better, I just got tired of using flash. And also, I figured out it's a lot eaiser to do shading if I create a layer over the color layer, switch it to multiply, and use a medium gray. Also, flash is best when I have a clear perfect line map fo what I'm doing, photoshop is better for Bsing.
And why was I so tired of using flash you might ask? Because I was busy doing this!

Dumgens & Draggins 6: She's Got No ArmorClass

Also, if you have no idea what SecondLife is, it's like this(NSFW), but virtually.
I like how the main characters came out in Flash, but it really helps if I have a solid drawing first, otherwise Photoshop is much easier for
Also also, other D&D pick up lines that were considered:
Hey baby, you need an armorcheck?
Hey baby, wanna go on a quest?
Hey baby, is your alignment lawful good or lawful fine?
Is this a +2 scepter in my pocket or am I just happy to see you?
Hey baby, you better roll for initiative 'cause we're about to have a confrontation!
Hey baby, are you proficient in handling two-handed weapons?

Dumgens & Draggins 5: The Clothing makes the thief

Yeah, there are a myriad of different outfits to choose from(if you have money and/or can find them in the dungeons) all with varying special abilities. Some of them are kinda useful like one that electrocutes enemies that hit you or has a +10 save on acid, but more times than most you'll go back to your standard armor because it will protect you the most and it takes too much time to switch between them.
And sadly, there's no place to try them on. If you want to see how they look, you have to buy them. Which I guess makes sense because you're buying them primarily for the enhancements, but I still wanna look cool killing things.
And if you think I'm creative enough to come up with these

Quentin Tarantino: King of Anti-Climacticism 2

Y'know, I really do enjoy most Quentin Tarantino films, and I did really like the first Kill Bill for reference. And I also realize that she pulled a knife out of the cereal first(Is that the secret prize they put in Frosted Flakes these days?!) but it's still anti-dramatic. And not to say that being anti-dramatic is a bad thing all the time either, it's just that's his thing. That's why two of his first films, Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were so good, BECAUSE they were anti-climatic.
I'm just saying, hail to the king of anti-climacticism baby.
(still not a word.)
Also, here's a preview of Friday's Dumgens & Draggins!

Dumgens & Draggins 4: The Hovering Kobold

I think this is my best one yet with all that new fangled perspective and backgrounds and whatnot. I was going to try grayscale with Zao the thief, but I just love the way he looks in Black and White.
I keep forgetting to upload pics of the model I've been working on. Oh well. Have a great weekend!

big butt, horrible quality

EDIT: Oh my crap that is so much better. I don't think I've ever loved a scanner more than I do now.
But I do have other stuff that I scanned in earlier today!

This is what I thought a bugbear in Dungeons and Dragons would look like before I knew what a bugbear was.
And here's a surprise sample panel from Friday's Dumgens & Draggins!

Go perspective!

Dumgens & Draggins 2: Level 2

Not that it's a bad thing, but when you level up, you feel like a monster slayer extraordinaire, able dispatch any enemy with a simple whisk of your blade.
And then you move on to the next monster area.
But that's the way games work. If it weren't monsters getting harder, there'd be no reason to level up and the game would get boring.
I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting used to the process or because this particular one was short, or because I gain +352 XP on my photoshop skill but this comic only took me barely two days! Awesome!
Apologies for not posting this much this week, it's just been a lazy week. But next week I'm gonna do a comic every day! Why? Because if I do, then next Friday will be my 100th comic! Huzah! Ale and whores for everyone!

Dumgens & Draggins 1: Hit or Miss

Here it is! Dumgens&Draggins #1! Holy balls man, a comic should not take that long. Or have that many photoshop layers. I'm hoping this will get easier in the future. HOPING.
Anyways, I love playing DDO, but this is one of the minor annoyances. When an enemy is harder, he doesn't get more HP, he just get's harder to hit, which doesn't really make sense from what I can see in the animation, I mean it LOOKS like my sword and sickle are going through him numerous times, but obviously my character only rolled a 5 or something. And kobolds are jerks. Hope you enjoyed it!

Dumgens & Draggins©

So or the past two days I've been trying to do a comic in photoshop, and for some reason I always think it's gonna be easy, until I look at my linework. Anyways, I've decided to try a new approach: 4 smaller pen comics mon-fri with one big photoshop comic at the end of the week! Until I can up my photoshop skills and churn them out faster (or practice more flash and illustrator), I think this will work out. Plus I'm half way done with it, so it seems like it's working out well so far.
Also, I might try a thing next month where I do a model from concept to nice render in a month because I definitely haven't been modeling enough.
Also also, with these new photoshop monstrosities, I'm introducing a new mini-series, Dumgens & Draggins© (thanks to Shannon for the name). I have a good handful of comics about my adventures in Dungeons and Dragons Online. I play a thief with a mohawk and a pirate beard (cartoonized above) and if you don't believe me, here's a screenshot:

And here's my character pretending to play Assassin's Creed:

Hey, maybe these will get so good I'll transition them to RocketPoweredDragon when it's done! Wouldn't that be awesome?
