New site and such

Hey guys! I have made a shiny new website! thenoirguy.com. That will be my portfolio site from now on, while this will still be my blog.  I'm switching to Wordpress basically because they have better gallery settings(namely, they HAVE gallery settings), but I will keep posting random updates on things here! Random things like this portrait of Dr. Cox I just did:

You can feel him saying "no".

I'm getting more into shading these days. Also up now on Sketched Screenings is a list of things I want to see in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man game.

Now that I think of it, using webbing to play Practical jokes on criminals would probably #14. I mean, he's a teenager, and juvenile in general, why shouldn't you be able to trip thugs or web their butts to chairs?

And if you're looking for more reviewy stuff from SKetched Screenings, I also recently reviewed Dark Shadows!

Also also, here's this random illustration I did to apply for an illustration job(I don't think I got it by the way).

More to come soon!

Noir sketches and webcomics!

Hey guys! I haven't really posted on here in awhile, so I thought I'd give you a look at some noir sketches! It's for an upcoming sketchbook project and I'll most likely be done and posting about it in about a month, so look forward to that!

One of the protagonists-The Florist

A saucy Secretary

Two sisters. Hmm, "opposites attract" or "Twisted Sister"?

Bad Cop Good Cop

Some skeevy character: A business man, drug dealer, and a druggie

Some lovely ladies

A bartender, an old guy, and a psychiatrist

Also, I haven't been doing comics here, because I've been doing comics for another site I've become a part of, Rocket Powered Dragon! We have comics, animations, games, illustrations and more! You should really check out our stuff! Also, I animated the banner, which I'm pretty proud of.

If you've been going through Josh comic withdrawl, you'll be happy to know I have three webcomics up there! The Adventures of Purple Boy and Turquoise Girl, which is funny and light hearted, The Book of the Barber, which I've finally started up, and Brother Rabbit comics, which I'll be doing a couple of every now and then.

We also have Random Awesome comics, which I did one for, and I might do one there every now and again.

Considering I have 3 of them, and I'm trying to be professional and not BS them, they updates on all of them might be sporadic, but I'll try to get a new one of each up every week.

Oh also, if you didn't know, I did a bunch of reviews over at Sketched Screenings! So you should check those out too!

The Green Quill

I didn't like this one at first, but I started liking it after I colored and shaded it. This is based on my friend Katie, who has an awesome procrastibake blog that you should go check out right now. The Green Quill throws quills and fires arrow pens at dobadders because pens are badass weapons. (oh man I totally just made up dobadders)

If you'll notice new stuff on the blog, it's because I'm between websites and I decided to just put all my portfolio stuff here for the time being. I update this more anyways. I'm still working on it, but what do you guys think of it so far?

Also, I'm quickly approaching my 150th comic(I'm counting the heroes as comics because they take just as long). I feel like doing something special, but I'm not sure what. We'll see next week!

hipster zombie?!

I was in the grocery store and I just burst out laughing when I randomly thought of this (Yeah, that's how I come up with ideas, I'll just be walking around normally then hysterically burst into laughter for no reason). I really want to make a whole blog dedicated to cartoons like this, but I'm not sure if I could come up with that many ideas or if it would be entertaining enough for people to waste their precious internet time on.

And if you're completely lost on this, you should probably check out this website.

Also zombie related, has anyone seen this? And is it terribly good or just terrible?

"I want these Mother fuckin' zombies off my mother fuckin' plane!"
