Sketches and Aniversaries

Hey this past wednesday, Sketched Screenings turned two years old! It's crazy that I've been doing posts (mostly) every week on time for two years. I should celibrate somehow. Maybe with a dance party. I don't know. Also last week, I reviewed Mama and Gangster Squad, so check those out! And here's some more Jessica Chastain sketches from Mama:

Also, there were two new Dime-Store Noir pages, so check those out if you haven't! New page tomorrow too! More after the jump!

S.A.D. Day 13

Only one more day before the big one! Single Awareness Day! How are you getting ready?

If you would like to buy this card, go here.

S.A.D. Day 6

A personalized greeting card from Brother Rabbit! Add in your own expletives! I was going to put in something like, "you sad lonely bastard", but I think this is more fun.

Example:

Brother Rabbit: "Happy Single Awareness Day you lonely NICE PERSON."

Brother Cat: "Meow, you STANDUP FELLOW."

The Christmas Brother Rabbit Sold out

This year I gave made Brother Rabbit themed greeting cards with the desired results: They liked them but not enough to tell me I should be doing them for a living! I honestly greatly dislike making greeting cards. WIth a fiery passion. But they make my family happy, so I suffer a little to bring them joy! And isn't that what real presents are all about?

This year it wasn't so bad because I approached it as if I was making a comic, and I did them rather quickly, so there's really no reason I shouldn't be doing these everyday. Take a look!

Brother Rabbit and Acquaintances

Finally got to finish the comic I started Friday. This month I wanted to do some comics dedicated to Brother Rabbit(even though the month is half over)! It'll give me a chance to focus more on my storytelling and my backgrounds. Also, I'm going to try out the Monday-Wednesday-Friday comic schedule, so Wednesday is going to be my big 150th comic celebration! Wooo!

The Meow Knight!

Wow, finally finished this bad boy and it only took me several hours. Ugh, not sure if I'm happy with the shading. I might even do a version in flash, or perhaps I'm just tired of it.

When I first started, I was just going to do one, but I had multiple sketches. Luckily for a hero with multiple personalities this is not a problem! I think this was the last MRVLCAT I'll do, unless someone didn't already do Venom, which I find hard to believe.

Also, technically today is 24 hour comic day, which is something I'd love to participate in, but I'm really too busy for it. I guess i could just do it tomorrow, but that wouldn't be in the spirit. Oh well, there's always next year...

Self-Doubt gets it

A special strip celebrating Joe Hunter's early Birthday (on Sunday)! If you don't know about him (he's on my links list to the left, Journalin Comix), he does a daily comic like me, except his illustrations are actually good. Very sleek and simple. I hear he's also doing a graphic novel. You should check him out!

Happy early Birthday Joe! Thanks for all the great comics!
