Christmas Wish

I meant for this to come out over Christmas, but it got delayed. And I'm not naming names, but I think she would wish that if she hasn't already. As I said before, I'm fat thin, but I'm skinny fat.

This will be my last comic of 2010. It's going to take awhile to get used to writing "2011". At least a good 11 months. I've done about 139 comics this year. Not bad for a lazy cartoonist. I did have something else I planed to finish, but it will just have to be my shiny new example of 2011!

See you guys next year!

The Christmas Brother Rabbit Sold out

This year I gave made Brother Rabbit themed greeting cards with the desired results: They liked them but not enough to tell me I should be doing them for a living! I honestly greatly dislike making greeting cards. WIth a fiery passion. But they make my family happy, so I suffer a little to bring them joy! And isn't that what real presents are all about?

This year it wasn't so bad because I approached it as if I was making a comic, and I did them rather quickly, so there's really no reason I shouldn't be doing these everyday. Take a look!

Brother Rabbit and Christmas

I had a lot of fun with this one. I like Brother Rabbit because he's so easy and fun and creepy to draw. Expect to see more of him.

And yes, the header is making fun of the yogi bear poster.

I kind of want to make "HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS OR ELSE" Brother Rabbit Greeting cards, but I'm not sure who would buy them. Maybe when he gets a larger following.
What do you guys think? Too creepy?
Also, this was for a secret santa project.

uhh random?

Thank you Garden State.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I just got up and drew and read stuff, and that's how I finished inking one comic and sketched tomorrow's comic! And then I crashed from 9-12 and after that I was strangely productive. I may have a new sleep schedule. We'll see tonight.

Also, there will be Christmas stuff later in the week! Stay tuned!

The love is a lie

Yeah, I know it's an hour comic, but I told myself I'm doing a comic, and I did a comic Goddamnit! But I really need to sketch and practice before. It's like not stretching before a big workout. I hope this is funny because I'm not happy with the visuals.

A well respected man

I was talking with someone about how my friend Praveed changed his style from fancy well to do man to cowboy, and I thought this was funny.

I haven't been doing enough comics, I should do something about that.

And we're back!

Finally a new comic! This one took longer than expected. I think I'm back t my regular silly self, though I may do Brother Rabbit Comics every once in awhile. But I have been practicing! I swear! I did a couple of cartoon sketches based off friends from memory which I wasn't able to do half a year ago. Now I just have to work on everything else!

fishy friends

Gah! Finally done with this one. Not that it took a long time, just busy with other things. Hmm, I'm not sure if there will be another strip this week as it is Thanksgiving...

I'm hoping people are liking this series and its characters.

150th comic!

Oh hey! It's still 11:50 so this counts as a Wednesday post! I'm starting to like Brother Rabbit and Acquaintances. It's silly and creepy and sad and funny. Does anyone else like it? Too bad cause they're gonna be here for the rest of November! MWAHAHAHA!

But seriously, does anyone like it? I'm especially wondering about the fonts.

And you know what else?

150th COMIC WOOOOO!

So yeah, comic 150. I feel like I should have done more hullabloo at 100, but whateves man. To celebrate, I wanted to share with you my favorite comics of the past! Take a gander f you haven't gandered at all of them before!

My first daily comic in all it's pencily rough glory. I actually really like it because it had more of a crazy indy slice of life feel rather than a gag a day feel. I should do more like this.

One of the first ones I did with pen. I like how I did the hair and wind, also the joke is pretty simple.

This had a weird surrealist feel since I didn't feel like drawing the full body. Plus it makes me laugh. That's the important thing.

The first appearance of Brother Rabbit! I really like he style I went with and how I started to experiment with panel size and borders.

The first cave0Josh comic. Does anyone miss this guy?

I still think this is hilarious.

Wow, one of my many cop-out comics(I should definitely do a series of those). I like how curvy I drew myself.

One with an epic 12 panel gag. EPIC.

I think this is where my faces started to not suck. Also, there is still a complimentarian party on facebook. Which strangely has 29 members. Awesome.

This is still pretty much my comic process.

One of my first Dumgen & Draggins comics! Man, I kind of miss those. I need to play more D&D though.

These faces and expressions I actually like. Go me.

This looks nice. I should do more stuff like this.

Even though this was fairly recent, I think this is my favorite hero. The costume came out nice, and the pose is just classic.

But enough about me, let's talk about you! What was your favorite comic? What do you think I should do more of or less of? What needs work?

And also, thanks for following and for reading!

Brother Rabbit and Acquaintances

Finally got to finish the comic I started Friday. This month I wanted to do some comics dedicated to Brother Rabbit(even though the month is half over)! It'll give me a chance to focus more on my storytelling and my backgrounds. Also, I'm going to try out the Monday-Wednesday-Friday comic schedule, so Wednesday is going to be my big 150th comic celebration! Wooo!

texts aren't free

I didn't know what to do a comic about and then I saw this commercial.

Finally got this one up! I started it too late last night and finally finished it this morning(ish). I think what I like most about this one is the ears. The ears turned out really nice and eary.

I'm gonna try to have one up later today, but it may not be up until tomorrow. I'm thinking of switching my comic schedule from everyday to Mon-Weds-Fri. I've been doing three or four comics a week anyways, and this will give me time to do better quality comics.

Also, tomorrow(or today if I have time) will be my 150th comic! Woo go me! I should do something special. Like take a vacation or be paid money.

Steller Sierra

Ok this is my last hero! Steller Sierra, the space traveler!

No more heroes. Tomorrow I'll be doing something completely different.

The Green Quill

I didn't like this one at first, but I started liking it after I colored and shaded it. This is based on my friend Katie, who has an awesome procrastibake blog that you should go check out right now. The Green Quill throws quills and fires arrow pens at dobadders because pens are badass weapons. (oh man I totally just made up dobadders)

If you'll notice new stuff on the blog, it's because I'm between websites and I decided to just put all my portfolio stuff here for the time being. I update this more anyways. I'm still working on it, but what do you guys think of it so far?

Also, I'm quickly approaching my 150th comic(I'm counting the heroes as comics because they take just as long). I feel like doing something special, but I'm not sure what. We'll see next week!

Chris Deadhand! Also, cards!

Wow, it feels like I haven't done this in a while , but here's another hero...era..villain! Chris Deadhand can slap on any dead part to replace a part on his body, possibly gaining the powers that were in that limb/body part. He works mostly as muscle for the supervillain mob. Here's the Original:

Oh hey, remember when I said way back when I did a video for the escapist magazine? Well that little video is up in the video gallery! And it made first cut, which means people at the escapist really like it! We're in the top 20 out of nearly a hundred videos! You should check it out, and definitely sign up and vote for us: Radiogame Theatre

Also, I've been working on my card designs. Check out a printout I doodled on:
I'm liking these new fonts I picked. I'm leaning towards the second horizontal or the vertical, not really caring too much for the brick pattern. Also wondering if my avatar should have hair or just a baldish head. It would give more possibilities to doodle in the hair...

November's going to be busy.

I never showed you guys the picture to my radio/video program Radiogame Theatre did I? Well here it is! I took a long time with it and I'm actually pretty proud of it, even though it's a buttload of photoshop filters.

For those of you who don't know, I entered into the Escapist Film Festival. Hopefully the Escapist will put up the video gallery so I can start urging you to incessantly vote for my video to win! I'll probably upload the long version or the original runthrough we did(because it's hilarious) on youtube sometime.

In other news, I'm also participating in the National Novel Writing Month, so I'll be writing at least 2000 words a day! I'm not sure how this will effect the daily journal and other projects.

Also, I think I'll be doing superheroes for the rest of this week because I still have a few more commissions I said I would do, but I think starting next week, I'm going to try something different. It all depends on what kinds of stories I can come up with. I'll let you know. But after I do 6 more superheroes(for an even 15, and I still have 3 spots left if you're interested) I won't be taking any more superhero commissions (Unless you'd like to pay me).

I may also put a hold on Rickety Rat, as I'm trying to finish up animating some game sprites. I still need to do some script rewrites, so we'll see how the week goes.

There might be a superhero tonight. We shall see. We shall see.

Andrea Turbine

Achoo! Feeling under the weather. That's why there's no background on this one. Also, I did it in flash just to see how it would look and how long it would take me. Didn't take that long, but it lost some of its depth and detail and character. I do like how the left hand came out.

This is based on my friend Andrea, who's all about the old school and always gets into trouble, so I made her a into a sleek 1940's style rocketess with rayguns. Here's a version from flash with no lines:

Different, right?

Elisia!

Woah! Look at those blatant photoshop effects! Today's hero is Elisia! Based on my friend Elise! She's a powerful witch with mystical powers, and she's a good or bad depending on how she's feeling that day. I'm hoping the tilted head came out ok, I need to do more practice with that. Here's the original:

Also, I've been taking pictures of random people and drawing them for practice. Take a look:
I should start inking them too.

Phasing Laura and Clarence Stone

I told you I'd have another hero up tonight! YOU didn't believe me! I don't care if it is 2 in the morning I'm posting! So there!

Tonight I have another duo, of my friends Laura and Clarence! Their powers are linked; they can both change density and size, but the more Clarence gets denser or bigger, the lighter or smaller Laura gets! Isn't that cool? I think it is.

I'm fairly happy with this one, especially with the fact that it has a friggin' background! Look at that beautiful wall! I'm also happy with the effects on the heroes and the titles, but the hands and feet need work.

And here's the original ink and some sketches:

Have a super weekend!
