Make-Up post with Blue Beetle, Spider-Man, Mass Effect and more!

Hey! I haven't been on in awhile. I have done a tone of new sketches though! Lots of cool stuff.

Blue Beetle! I should draw more of Blue Beetle. I love his classic costume.

For the Allentown Comic Con I recently attended, I did a bunch of sketchcards. I think they turned out pretty great!

More sketchcards, commissions and characters after the jump!

Monday sketch dump 2/17

Oh hey look what day it is whoops new sketches!

Drew a turian for a friend!

Some characters for an upcoming Dime-Store noir story.

Some lady?

Also last week, I reviewed The Lego Movie and Space Dandy for Sketched Screenings! So check those out if you haven't already!

Also also, there were TWO BRAND ASS-SPANKING NEW pages of The Wrong Girl on Dime-Store Noir! Page 26 and Page 27! Some surprising things happening in these pages. And tune in tomorrow(or in about an hour) for ANOTHER exciting new page!

The big sleep big tomb raider post

Hey hey it's Monday! I did the sketchings! Sketchedlingings! Sketchy sketchy sketch sketch! Look at the thing I did.

So I hey I finally did some finished versions of the characters from Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep.

From left to right, Carmen Sternwood, Phillip Marlowe, and Vivian Regan.

Harry Jones, Agnes, and Joe Brody.

It was a pretty good mystery. I know I've read it in comic form or seen one of the movies somewhere, it was quite familiar. I should read more noir books and sketch more characters!

Also, I've started playing the new Tomb Raider and it is crazy addictive. Really fun gameplay and incredibly brutal story experience. Here are a coule of sketches I did that were inspired!

This is all I can think of when they talk about the island they're on.

Has anyone made this crossover? I claim it.

Here's a random doodle of an idea for a cross-dressing superhero I had:

Not sure what I'll do with it yet.

Last week, I also animated a quick little thing on my Tumblr. You should go check it out, as I have no idea how to get it from tumblr to here. Also last week, I reviewed Man of Steel and This is The End on Sketched Screenings! Go check those out! See you next week!

music videos and sketches

I've been doing more storyboarding for short films and music videos. My friend B.J. Harring just released a new music video from the awesome metal band Carach Angren of the song Funerary Dirge of a Violinist that I storyboarded! It's totally awesome and you should watch it and comment and share and all that! Watch it below!

And here, you can see my animatic for the video:

I think B.J. has a great eye for composition and storytelling, and his direction on the storyboards was pretty precise. Unlike a lot of amateur directors, he knew what he wanted. I think it's pretty interesting what changed from animatic to finished product and what he kept in. And I think it came out very well!  I can't wait to see his next directing piece.  More boards and sketches after the jump!

Sketches and Aniversaries

Hey this past wednesday, Sketched Screenings turned two years old! It's crazy that I've been doing posts (mostly) every week on time for two years. I should celibrate somehow. Maybe with a dance party. I don't know. Also last week, I reviewed Mama and Gangster Squad, so check those out! And here's some more Jessica Chastain sketches from Mama:

Also, there were two new Dime-Store Noir pages, so check those out if you haven't! New page tomorrow too! More after the jump!

Mass Effect sketch dump

I've started replaying Mass Effect 2 because it's such an amazing game, and I think I'll do some art pieces on it with all the free time I don't have. Anyways, here are some ME2 sketches:

From Upper Left to Lower Right: Legion, Jack, Garrus, Grunt, Jacob,  and Samara.

 More after the jump!
